If you’re looking for a local, authentic market experience not too far from Bangkok’s busy center, Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market is definitely a place you need to visit. Located in Phra Pradaeng District, often called Bangkok’s “green lung,” this floating market offers a relaxing, nature-filled escape just across the Chao Phraya River from the city.
The market is open only on weekends — Saturday and Sunday — making it a perfect weekend getaway for both locals and visitors. You’ll find a mix of everything here — local food, snacks, fruits, desserts, clothes, souvenirs, handmade crafts, and even plants. It’s a great place to explore, shop, and, most importantly, eat!

And speaking of food, this market has two of my personal favourites. There’s something really special about Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market that keeps me coming back again and again.
One of my absolute favourite things to eat here is the Thai dessert called Ka Nom Fak Bua, also known as Thai Pandan Pancake. It’s soft, slightly chewy, and has this perfect fragrance from pandan leaves that makes it stand out from other Thai sweets. It’s no wonder that this is also a favourite of BLACKPINK’s Lisa! She has excellent taste!
I’ll be honest — most Thai desserts are too sweet or just taste a little weird to me. But after the first bite of Ka Nom Fak Bua, I was hooked. It’s now my number one Thai dessert. Every time I see it somewhere, this is a must-have treat for me.

But desserts aren’t the only highlight here. I also discovered what I can confidently say is the BEST Isan Sausage in Thailand right here at this market. I’ve tried so many sausages in Thailand — from street stalls to markets — but nothing beats the ones sold at Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market. They are perfectly grilled, juicy, flavorful, and simply addictive. I keep coming back here just for these sausages — trust me, once you try them, you’ll understand why.
You’ll see in video exactly where to find the lady who sells the best Isan sausages in Thailand.
And if you visit during fruit season, you’re in for another treat — you’ll find plenty of mangosteen, known as the Queen of Fruits and one of my personal favourites, and durian, the King of Fruits, which happens to be my wife’s favourite. Both are available at very good prices compared to Bangkok city markets.

Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market isn’t just about shopping or eating — it’s about atmosphere. It’s local, relaxing, friendly, and surrounded by greenery and canals. Whether you’re visiting for the food, the unique finds, or simply to enjoy the weekend vibes, this is a place you shouldn’t miss.
So if you’re in Bangkok and want to experience something local and authentic — away from the crowds and chaos — Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market is a must-visit. Trust me, once you’ve been here, you’ll want to come back again and again… just like I do.
