Located in the Vanilla Moon, just across the road from Makro Food, Gukinju Yakiniku Buffet is one of Bangkok’s hidden gems. It’s a place that’s quickly become one of my favourite buffets in Bangkok, and for good reason: it offers an incredible value that’s hard to beat.
For just 369 baht – less than €10 – you get an all-you-can-eat feast that delivers on both quality and variety. Considering the low price, the selection of food is genuinely impressive. The star of the show for me is the beef, especially the marinated beef and the signature Gukinju beef. They’re both absolutely delicious and a testament to the quality you can get even on a budget.
Beyond the beef, the buffet offers a great selection of other meats. The Korean-style pork is incredibly yummy, and my wife particularly loves the fresh mussels, squid, and shrimp. For those who enjoy a broader spread, there’s also chicken, sausages, rice, and noodles, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
They also have my favourite side dishes that go with the grill, like wakame seaweed salad, kimchi, and pickled radish. While the kimchi might not quite reach the same level as what I’ve had at AKA, it’s still good. You also get to choose from seven different sauces to go with your meal.
The value extends beyond the food. The price includes a variety of different drinks, including common fizzy drinks, and a delightful selection of four to five different kinds of ice cream for dessert.
The restaurant itself is small but has a cozy, comfortable feel. Whether you’re dining with a group or enjoying a meal on your own, the space is welcoming. The service is excellent, with friendly and helpful staff who are a reflection of the wonderful hospitality you find all over Thailand.
Gukinju is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious and affordable buffet experience in Bangkok. It’s one of my favourite buffets, along with AKA and Lucky Suki, and I always visit it at least once every time I’m in the city. I highly recommend you give it a try – you definitely won’t regret it.
