Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 3 Has Players Frustrated With New Bugs and Annoying Changes
Larian Studios released Patch 3 for Baldur’s Gate 3 on September 22, and while the patch introduced some welcome new features, such as full support for Mac devices and the long-awaited Magic Mirror, it has also been met with a lot of frustration from players.
One of the biggest complaints about Patch 3 is the new shared stash system. When you dismiss a companion, their loot is now transferred to your player character’s inventory. This can be a major pain, especially if you have a lot of companions and/or a lot of loot. Players have also reported that the shared stash system can lead to crashes and other bugs….
Another major complaint is the new camera focus in conversations. Previously, the camera would focus on the character who was speaking, but now it always focuses on Tav, the player character. This means that you can no longer see the expressions of your companions during conversations, which can make them feel less alive and engaging.
In addition to these two major complaints, players have also reported a number of other bugs and issues with Patch 3. These include:
- Facial animations are less expressive than they were before.
- Gale and Wyll are both bugged, with Gale repeating himself a lot and Wyll’s questline being unable to be completed in Act 3.
- Nudity is being censored even when the “Show Nudity” setting is enabled.
- NPCs don’t finish their sentences.
- Doors are bugged.
Larian Studios has acknowledged that there are some issues with Patch 3, and has promised to release a hotfix soon. However, in the meantime, many players are frustrated with the state of the game and are choosing to wait until the hotfix is released before continuing their playthroughs. But many players have been waiting for a hotfix or a new patch since the last patch, it looks like they will have to keep waiting for this game to be fixed. But that might take more than a year, considering Larian’s progress with this game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 – The Most Broken Game of the Year
More examples of what is broken:
- Raphael has a bad dye job and basic horns.
- Gale is bugged again and can treat you like shit even with high approval. He still repeats himself and talks about Raphael’s contract.
- The new dyes are not popular, with some players complaining that leather should not be dyed in neon colours.
- Dammon can insta-die in Act 2 because of the suspicious cow/slime.
- Unable to save the game after trading.
- Wyll’s story is bugged in Act 3 and players can’t progress.
- Problems with MP.
- Animate Dead is also broken: skeletons spawn without bows and zombies aren’t spawning at all.
It is important to note that not all players are experiencing all of these bugs and issues. However, the number of reports is significant enough to suggest that Patch 3 has introduced some major problems for Baldur’s Gate 3.
