The Prince of Persia franchise returns with an all-new epic journey.
It’s been a very long time since the last Prince of Persia game was released. But according to new leaks, a new game is in development and it will be announced next month during a PlayStation event.
Prince of Persia is one of many games that fans have begged Ubisoft to bring back and in recent years Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner has revealed that he would also like to make a new game.
Finally, Jordan Mechner’s and Prince of Persia fans’ wish is coming true because Ubisoft is bringing Prince of Persia back.
The new game is called “Prince of Persia: Dark Babylon” and will take place after the events of “The Two Thrones” in an alternative version of Babylon.
The gameplay will be similar to the trilogy but thanks to some new changes it will somewhat feel different. It will have mixed combat gameplay from Trilogy and you can customize your Prince’s armor and abilities. The main character of the game is an evil version of the Prince who comes from a different timeline.
Another leak comes from Serbia where the Ubisoft conference was held. During the conference, they talked about Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell games and a short 50 second long teaser was shown. Both games will be linear and stories would be like soft-reboot.
Both games will be announced alongside the new Assassin’s Creed game at the PlayStation event in February 2020.
But don’t expect the Prince of Persia to be released soon, it is still in development and the earliest release date to expect is 2021.
