PS5 will be released in November and it’s more powerful than Xbox Scarlett

Sony has confirmed that PlayStation 5 will release “Holiday 2020” and this has caused more rumours. If you look around today you will notice many different pictures of the possible design of the PS5 console and controller. In addition, the release date and price of the new console are also discussed.

Many leaks and rumours point that PS5 will be released in November 2020, which is quite logical. But there are also some rumours that it’s actually coming out beginning in December. However, a new leak suggests that the PS5 will be released in North America on November 20 at a price of $499 / €499. The same source also confirms that the PS5 comes with a 2TB SSD drive. This would be a welcome move by Sony, as the 1TB is a bit small for the current generation of consoles. However, this statement raises some doubts. Prices for SSD drives have fallen over the last year, but a 2TB SSD is still an expense for just $499 console. How many or if any of these statements are true, we will see soon in March.

But there is also another leak. A developer using the name Kleegamefan on forum ResetEra made the claim that PS5 dev kit is the fastest at the moment.

“Right now, game performance is better on PS5. I believe that is probably because PS5 development hardware and software are in a more advanced state,” wrote Kleegamefan.

But he also expects that Microsoft will “close that gap once they ship more mature dev kits and software” and “it’s very possible that they could ultimately deliver more advanced DirectX development software in the end allowing games to run better on Scarlett even if the hardware is less capable”.
